Week two of the MKMMA brings revisions to my Definite Major Purpose (DMP) and the addition of the Personal Pivotal Needs (PPN).

Habits

Good Habits are the Key to SuccessI have continued reading 3 times a day which is feeling more the norm than the overwhelm.

I am already seeing changes in my life and habits. Take this morning: I didn’t sleep well last night and finally resorted to taking a sleep aid. When I woke with the alarm, I was really groggy, but I got up, did my reading, and sat quietly for 15 minutes. And then, went back to bed. My husband woke me up around 8:30 am. I told him I needed to go back to sleep. I knew I had a 9 am call scheduled, however, I really wanted to blow it off. Then, I realized I was wide-awake and alert – which is how I want to wake up and I even put it in my DMP: “I wake up vibrant and happy and ready to meet the world!” It didn’t matter that the person did not answer, what mattered is I kept my appointment and dialed the phone. I kept my promise.

Definite Major Purpose (DMP)

Definite Major Purpose (DMP)MY DMP changed drastically this week. My first draft was about a very obscure plan to co-found a Harbor/Haven for Healing organization, a place where abused women and children can go to live, feel safe, heal, and get on their feet. With the help of my guide (Nancy), I realized I required more dates and emotions and how to’s. So I backed it up to include more immediate goals and details to focus on in the next six months. I still including the Harbor/Haven for Healing in the five year plan. I don’t even know the exact name yet! LOL! Or where it will be located, as I have not decided where I want to live.

Personal Pivotal Needs (PPN)

I loved the introduction of the PPN! The seven possible Personal Pivotal Needs are:

  • Legacy
  • Spiritual Growth
  • Autonomy
  • Liberty
  • Helping Others
  • Recognition for Creative Expression
  • True Health

It was reassuring to know that even though I had to pick two of the MOST important, all seven areas would see improvement.

Autonomy

AutonomyI felt drawn to Autonomy and Liberty. Autonomy is independence, freedom, self-governing, and freedom from outside coercion; I can come and go as I please and I’m not accountable to anyone. This screamed my name and is definitely one of my top two pivotal needs. Liberty is having the money to do what I want and the freedom from restriction. This also is important to me but I didn’t choose it as one of my top two.

True Health

Wheels to WellnessPart of my purpose is fulfilled as a writer, which could be part of Legacy, Helping Others, and Recognition for Creative Expression. However, True Health is the 2nd pivotal need I require. I met my husband later in life and we both made a promise to each other: to be as healthy as we possibly could be, every single day, for the rest of our lives. Physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and financial health are extremely important to me. I look at them as spokes in the Wheels to Wellness. To keep moving forward, you need to keep ALL your spokes in good working condition!

John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success

John Wooden's Pyramid of SuccessOne additional thing we looked at this week was John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, which holds Industriousness (There is no substitute for work. Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning.) and Enthusiasm (Brushes off upon those whom you come in contact. You must truly enjoy what you are doing) as the cornerstone. I love this! I have always had a strong work ethic and I KNOW how to work hard! I don’t always do it with Enthusiasm. To know that is a cornerstone of success means it is truly worthy of bringing some awareness and energy to.

There is SO much I could talk about! For now, that’s all folks! I love how I’m becoming more efficient with my time and know that each week, I’m going to see and feel improvements and changes in me and in the world I’m creating! So excited to be on this journey!

Gratitude,
