This post was originally written in May 2019. After listening to a team training during a Platform Launchers’ weekly mastermind about Focus, Consistency, and Quitting Too Soon, I updated it. The training reminded me of this post and how the power of focus and intention have played out in my life countless times. Tis true, after all, that what we focus on grows. Enjoy!

I’m sitting here in Costa Rica… Just enjoying feelings of bliss and relaxation. I haven’t been on my phone or computer much. I’ve been focused, present, and engaged with the people and experiences before me. Barefoot in a bikini is my happy place. It’s where I smile more, dance more, and feel more joy and freedom.

How do I carry this home with me?

With some goal setting, daily intentions, focus and attention. And maybe even a declaration.

Focus and Intention: Independent

In my teens and early 20s, my deepest intention was to be independent. I went off to college 2,000 miles away – by bus (Read The next time I take a road trip across country!) I found an internship and my first job four hours away from home.

At 27, I woke up and realized I was extremely independent. Possibly even too independent for my own good (is that possible?) But this was the first time I had set an intention in action.

Focus and Intention: Strong

In my 30s, I wanted to be strong. It was all I focused on. I set the intention, made the declaration, and went to work in the gym and my personal life. And through some tough decisions, transitions and challenging times, I put intention in action and learned that I was given this life because I am strong enough to live it. Becoming strong became part of my daily life. It took focus and intentional actions.

Focus and Intention: Calm

In my 40s, my deepest intention was to be and feel calm. I wanted to quiet the chaos and outside noise of a hectic life. I wanted emotional freedom.

Meditation was first on the list to learn. I took intentional action to learn to manage my energy instead of my calendar. I explored what it meant to be an introvert and highly sensitive.

Guess what? My IsaBody Babes have told me that my calmness is what they love about me. I am who they turn to when they feel anxious. My strong intention had come true. Once again, putting intention in action made calmness a part of my life and personality.

Independent. Strong. Calm. Different focus and intention through different seasons of life all came to fruition.

Focus and Intention: Freedom

What’s my current focus? FREEDOM, for me and others.

Physical Freedom

Freedom in my body means I no longer count calories or macros. I don’t chase a number on the scale. I am healthy. I feel ah-ma-zing. Yes, my weight goes up and down between a 10-pound range and I’m OK with that. There are times you’ll see me and my abs are popping. Other times you’ll see a little more curves to my waistline. I’m good with that. I found amazing tools to keep me maintain my weight, excel as an athlete, and be as healthy as I can possibly be.

I am happy to share my nutrition with you so you can have more freedom in your body.

Emotional Freedom

I have always considered myself an emotional human being. I blamed PMS and sudden surgical menopause but I always craved freedom from the roller coaster of highs and lows.

Once again, I put intention in action:

  • The right nutrition and some hard work helped me understand myself and my needs, especially during challenging times.
  • Self-assessment & self-awareness, along with balanced nutrition, helped me find freedom with my emotions.
  • I don’t need to compete or be like the extroverts. When I have a high energy or social experience, I require a time of solitude to balance it out, replenish, and refresh.
  • I require sunshine in nature and water. I require more time being barefoot in a bikini to find freedom.

When I do all these things – essentially practicing self-care – I HAVE FREEDOM and abundant life.

I’ve heard it said that to learn something truly, you should teach it. One of the biggest catalysts for helping me achieve emotional freedom through knowing myself, loving myself, and empowering myself came from writing my book Wheels to Wellbeing, A Practical Self-Care Guide to Living A More Balanced Life. It can help you too, move from feeling like you need to be SuperWoman (or man) to accepting that you are SuperHuman.

Financial Freedom

Over the years, Jimmie and I have worked to create multiple streams of income, passive and residual, whenever possible. Our focus and intention is to assist people nutritionally and financially. We do that in a few

ways:

  1. Sharing Isagenix
(Our nutrition system and an income stream – we’ve witnessed some amazing life transformations, physically and financially!)
  2. Self-paced, 100% online Nutrition Course
(For sale coming late fall 2023)
  3. Introducing people to Platform Launchers
(So they can learn to build a profitable online business of passion and purpose. There is a great mastermind, community support, and training each week. A recent training suggested we fail because we lack focus, lack consistency, or quit too soon.)
  4. Master Key Master Mind Alliance (MKMMA)
(The most intense personal development course ever. They broke the mold with this one with a life-changing program to launch you toward the successful completion of your dreams! Hint: Within months of completing this course, I had published my first book and Jimmie was an Isabody Finalist and Grand-Prize runner-up, earning $13,000 in cash, an all-expense paid inclusive trip for two to Costa Rica, and countless trips to Arizona, California, Minnesota, and Tennessee. You get your own personal guide and a tribe that will keep supporting and giving years after commencement!

My mission has always been to inspire you to live a life of true health, love, laughter, and freedom. That’s not going to change. Freedom is what holds the other three together. They are intimately intertwined for you and me.

Your Approach to Intention and Focus

What about you? Does this resonate? Is this in alignment with your goals and dreams? Even if it’s a small tug of your heart, it is possible to slow down from our busy lives and reach our dreams with more focus and intention.

I encourage you to get quiet and listen to the still, small cry from within. What is it telling you? What will you focus on in the next 90 days? Are you the type of person to set daily intentions? I’d love to discuss and follow up with you in the coming weeks to hold you accountable and help you set positive intentions.

Let’s greet the next 90 days with JOY, Intention, and FREEDOM!
