I was looking back over some pages in my journal and came across this one from October. Life is often both a juggling and balancing act. I’m someone who pushes myself right up to the edge, and then life happens and pushes me over. As we begin the slow descent into closing out 2025 and starting a new year, I plan to be more intentional about staying within myself. Enjoy this reflection. I hope it resonates with you.

What if I took smaller steps with more consistency?
What if I said “no” or “not now” more often?
I dream big. I plan, create, and push right up to my edge. That place where energy meets passion, where purpose meets possibility. It’s an exhilarating space to live in.
Until life happens.
And when it does, I tumble over the edge into chaos. Suddenly, there is too much to do, too many commitments, too little rest. Overstimulated. Exhausted. Burned out.
Lately, I’ve been asking myself: What if I don’t need to live on the edge to live on purpose? Isn’t alignment and authenticity being true to myself?
What if I could still burn bright without burning out? What if I could burn true with energy that’s aligned, sustainable, and fueled by meaning instead of adrenaline?
Burning true means I’m learning to trust rhythm over rush. It’s recognizing that my light shines stronger when it’s tended with care, not forced to blaze nonstop. It’s honoring the ebb as much as the flow.
So maybe this season isn’t about testing my limits. Maybe it’s about tending my flame. Pulling back just enough to stay steady. Doing less, but with more presence. Planning within or even under my current energy so that when life happens (as it always does), I still have room to breathe.
Edges can be thrilling, but they’re not sustainable places to live. The real magic happens when I step back far enough to see the big picture and recognize that it’s filled with joy, growth, and grace.
Today, I choose gentler edges.
I choose to burn true.
I choose room to breathe.
